The RAND Corporation is seeking an Associate Director of Annual Giving to support annual giving efforts for the Pardee RAND Graduate School, including strategy and execution of frontline, direct mail, digital, and other fundraising initiatives. The candidate will manage projects related to the annual fund pipeline building for the school, alumni relations, alumni events, and stewardship activities for the Pardee RAND Development team. Working with the Senior Director of Annual Giving, the Associate Director will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for Pardee RAND as part of the development team. The successful candidate will have an interest in public policy and must be able to effectively communicate RAND's mission and vision as well as the fundraising priorities for various RAND programs, research and centers, and for the Pardee RAND Graduate School.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Annual Giving.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support and grow the annual giving program for Pardee RAND to ensure short and long-term success.

Build relationships that encourage and promote a culture of philanthropy with stakeholders including alumnx, families, faculty, staff, and friends

Solicit leadership Annual Fund gifts (Policy Society and Dean’s Society level) through one-on-one visits with known prospects

Understand, pull and analyze data to view trends, performance, segmentation, etc. to improve and expand annual giving.

Write and develop pieces for annual giving and other campaign and donor materials as needed that serve the fundraising priorities of Pardee RAND.

Collaborate with the Senior Director of Annual Giving to identify leadership annual giving prospects and build the pipeline for the development team.

Work closely with donor relations to ensure proper cultivation and stewardship occurs for annual donors.
Qualifications

Experience working in development, specifically in developing annual appeals (direct mail and email) and frontline fundraising

Effective written and oral communication skills

Ability to work well and collaboratively with all levels of staff in addition to external constituencies

Ability to balance concurrent priorities and deadlines

Knowledge of data analysis, synthesis and reporting

Creative problem solver

Salesforce or similar database experience (preferred)

Ability to pass pre-employment background check
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
Experience
1 year of experience required; 3 or more years preferred
Salary Range
$71,000 - $105,400
RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate’s work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity. The salary range includes base pay plus RAND’s sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken).
