EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FACULTY

Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position reports to the Dean, Health and Industrial Technology and the EMS Program Coordinator. It’s duties and responsibilities include:

• preparing curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.;
• teaching Emergency Medical Services classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods;
• assisting in the advisement of students;
• coordinating and evaluating clinical experiences at affiliated clinical sites;
• serving on various assigned college committees; and
• teaching schedule will include day and night courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires:

• either a Bachelor’s degree in emergency medical technology from a regionally accredited college or university and a paramedic license or an Associate’s degree in emergency medical technology, a paramedic license, and a minimum of three years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field;
• interest in alternative instructional delivery methods;
• excellent written and oral communication skills;
• other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution; exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration.
