Assistant Professor of Communication

The Professional Studies Department has a position open for an Assistant Professor of Communication beginning in August 2023. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of communication, media studies and business faculty and will bring their expertise in journalism, multimedia production and project management to the team. The position will be responsible for bridging the space between foundational communication theory coursework and production in television/video, radio, print and visual communication. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record of offering experiential education programs and who have a demonstrated commitment to innovative pedagogical design.

Assistant professors are expected to be active community members in service to their students, departments, schools, and the College; to engage in scholarly work; and to pursue professional development. Qualifications: A terminal degree (e.g. Ph.D., Ed.D.) or commensurate experience is required. Teaching experience at the college level and familiarity with neurodiversity are also desirable.
