Assistant Director of Graduate Nursing Programs

The School of Nursing at Cedar Crest College, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, is currently accepting applications and nominations for an Assistant Director of Graduate Nursing Programs. We are seeking a dedicated nursing professional committed to educating graduate level nurses in the DNP, BSN-DNP, MSN, and PMC (post master’s certificate) programs with specialty tracks in FNP, AGACNP, nurse educator, and nurse administrator. Working as part of the nursing administrative team, this Assistant Director shares oversight of all aspects of the academic experience of the graduate nursing programs and consults with the Director of Graduate Nursing on matters pertinent to the graduate nursing programs. Reporting to the Director of Graduate Nursing Programs and the Dean of the School of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Graduate Nursing Programs is a full time, 12-month position.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Oversees and participates in the continuing assessment and refinement of graduate nursing curriculum.
• Reviews final graduate nursing programs’ evaluations.
• Monitors the advisement and rostering systems for graduate nursing students in collaboration with the Program Director, faculty, office manager, and Dean.
• Oversees input of faculty and the scheduling coordinator regarding all clinical practicums, and course schedules pertinent to the graduate nursing curriculum.
• Participates in the marketing and recruitment efforts for the graduate nursing programs.
• Coordinates outcome measurements for the graduate nursing programs in accordance with the Systematic Plan of Evaluation, periodic program review, and internal and external assessment requirements.  
• Assists with the maintenance of the graduate nursing programs in accordance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State Board of Nursing regulations.
• Assists with preparation of various reports of the graduate nursing programs as needed by the College or accreditation bodies.
• Assists with maintenance and audits of graduate student records.
• Addresses student concerns and issues to ensure satisfaction and quality in the graduate nursing programs.
• Assists in the development of all graduate nursing program initiatives.
• Coordinates, participates in, and evaluates the effectiveness in all aspects of the graduate nursing programs to ensure a satisfactory and efficient student experience.
• Teaches in the graduate nursing programs.
• Serves on College and School wide committees as needed.

Other Responsibilities:

• Serves as a resource to nursing faculty members regarding student advising and programmatic policies and procedures.
• Facilitates orientation of part-time and adjunct faculty members.
• Participates in Information Sessions for the School of Adult and Graduate Education.
• Facilitates orientation for students entering the graduate nursing programs in the fall, spring, and summer.
• Facilitates orientation for clinical preceptors working with students in the graduate nursing programs.

Required Qualifications:

• A terminal degree (PhD, EdD, or DNP) and a Master of Science in Nursing.
• Current license or eligible for licensure as an RN in Pennsylvania.
• Record of scholarship, teaching, and service.
• A minimum of three years of experience in higher education with graduate and online programs.
• Experience working through nursing accreditation processes and with licensing bodies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in an academic leadership role.
• An advanced practice registered nurse certification (NP, FNP, AGACNP, AGPCNP, PPCNP, PACNP, WHNP, CNM, CNS).
