The Minority Male Success Initiative (MMSI) Project Coordinator is
primarily responsible for supporting the mission of Guildford
Technical Community College, with emphasis in the areas of
retention, student mentoring, and guiding students toward the
successful completion of their academic goals. This individual will
provide direct support to successfully perform the duties outlined
by the state funded Minority Male Success Initiative (MMSI) grant.
This individual will be expected to provide leadership, mentoring,
academic coaching and programming for minority males, while also
serving as a resource for all male students from underrepresented
backgrounds. This individual will offer support and guidance to
ensure academic and social success while promoting cultural
pluralism and dialogue on matters related to the development of
minority males. The duration of the position is four years, the
length of the grant.

Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, human services, counseling, psychology, social work or the STEM fields.
Experience Required:
- Two years of relevant work experience coordinating large multi-faceted projects (i.e., grant activities).
- Experience coaching, advising and/or mentoring students in an educational environment
Experience Preferred:
- Experience in a post-secondary setting.
- Experience creating and conducting effective recruitment activities to include development of marketing materials.
- Experience supervising student employees.
