Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator

The Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences (MCHPS) at Gannon University's Erie, Pennsylvania campus is seeking a full-time, 10-month laboratory coordinator responsible for providing departmental support to facilitate and ensure seamless delivery of laboratory courses within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

This position is responsible for coordinating introductory laboratory courses including communicating with instructors as well as training and supervising work-study students assisting with laboratory courses. The laboratory coordinator will also maintain chemical hygiene in departmental labs, and manage the chemical stockroom and the physical and chemical inventories. This position also manages procurement, disposal of equipment and waste, and interfaces with vendors and contractors to obtain quotes and services. Basic maintenance and repairs of instruments are also the responsibility of the laboratory coordinator.

The successful candidate is required to possess a bachelor's degree in chemistry, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a chemistry laboratory setting is preferred. We are seeking candidates who possess knowledge of laboratory safety policies and procedures; excellent communication skills; outstanding organizational skills; the ability to work well with others in response to feedback and direction; and the ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
