The Texas A&M University Counseling Center is seeking an experienced Professional Counselor II to join our team. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume dynamic environment, and have a commitment to facilitating the personal and educational goals of a multicultural student population. Summary

The Professional Counselor II, under general supervision, is responsible for providing multiculturally competent psychological treatment and crisis intervention to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students, consultation and outreach services to the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi community, clinical supervision to practicum/intern trainees, coordination of a designated program area, and specialized counseling services consistent with area(s) of clinical expertise.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Psychologist in the State of Texas.
  • Two (2) years or more (post-graduate) experience in social work, counseling, or other mental health agency setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills; experience and ability to appropriately assess and treat a wide variety of clinical conditions and accurately assess risk of harm to self and/or others based on clinical evaluation and/or collateral report.
  • Training and post-licensure experience in brief therapy and crisis intervention with adults in an outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the needs of individuals from a variety of racial/ethnic groups and intersectionalities and demonstrated commitment to facilitating the personal and educational goals of a multicultural population.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment and fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) to be able to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment and the campus community.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records systems and telemental health platforms.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years (post-graduate) experience in social work, counseling, or other mental health agency.
  • Experience providing counseling services as a professional staff member in a university setting.
  • Experience in assessment and intervention of individuals with serious mental health concerns and/or a history of trauma.
  • Demonstrated program development and management skills.
  • Advanced clinical training and experience in specialized area or population (e.g., trauma survivors, LGBTQ, AOD, student veterans, student athletes, eating disorders).
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to master's level counseling and psychology trainees utilizing a multiculturally competent approach.


Salary
  • $55,000 - $62,900/Annual
  • Commensurate upon experience
