The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applications for three full-time General Faculty positions at the Lecturer rank (tenure ineligible). Each position has a distinct focus: Marketing (R0042477), Finance (R0042888), or Information Technology & Innovation (R0042646).

These positions will entail teaching 24 credit hours. Key responsibilities will include course development and instruction for one or more courses that are part of McIntire’s new General Business Minor (GBM), launching in the Fall of 2023. The minor will be open to all UVA undergraduate students who are not enrolled in the BS Commerce program. These courses will be developed so that they can be delivered both in person and online. Teaching the required minor course will comprise roughly half of the 24-credit load. The other portion of the load will consist of minor elective courses or courses the area offers in other programs. Depending on circumstances, there may be opportunities to teach other specialized courses in either the undergraduate or graduate finance curriculum.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in a relevant field required; Ph.D. strongly preferred. Applicants must have at least 2 years teaching related courses, particularly at the introductory level, in undergraduate and/or graduate programs. Experience with course design and online delivery are also preferred. In addition, a strong applicant will have: 1) the ability to teach courses in the relevant discipline at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; 2) an interest in engaging with professionals within that field, and 3) the interest in and potential to contribute as a leader at McIntire
