Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Director of Professional Studies and Continuing Education. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.
The individual will serve to ensure that PSCE programming aligns with and extends the mission of RI College to meet the professional development, continuing and online education, adult education, workforce development and training needs of all sectors of the community and workforce including underemployed, unemployed and underserved students. Continuing Education and is responsible for the general administration and financial management of PSCE programs and operations on campus and at the Central Falls Workforce Development Hub in cooperation with senior PSCE administrators and staff, campus partners and support offices, and community and industry partners. Areas of administration and financial management include primary responsibility for most Continuing Education (CE) programs; assistance with the development, funding, staffing, delivery, assessment and reporting on all programming; and the facilitation of PSCE strategic planning and assistance with the implementation of new PSCE initiatives.
Professional Studies and Continuing Education (PSCE) extends the educational offerings and resources of Rhode Island College (RIC) and provides administrative programming support and assistance to affiliated agencies and organizations on and off campus. Rhode Island College supports a variety of professional development, workforce development, continuing education, and adult education and community programs and initiatives that serve the interests and needs of working professionals, adult students, community members and those seeking to attain training and skills to enter or reenter the workforce.
Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Higher Education or Public Administration
- Prior experience in a senior academic administrative and/or financial management role in higher education.
- Experience in the development, delivery and support of nonstandard college-level professional development, continuing education, adult education and workforce development programming and support services.
- Experience in the financial management and with internal and external resource development for programming in higher education
- Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience and consistency in delivering administrative and financial management for programming in higher education
Preferred qualifications:
- PhD in Higher Education or Public Administration
- Possesses functional experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Financials
- Bilingual
