The University of North Alabama Department of Politics, Justice, Law, and Philosophy invites candidates for a tenure-track position in Criminal Justice at Assistant Professor rank to begin fall 2023. Area of specialization is open with a preference for specialization in theory and methods, policing, race/ethnicity, and/or security and emergency management. Previous experience in law enforcement, policy reform, and/or justice administration is preferred. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology (ABD with completion date by August 2023 will be considered). A Ph.D. in a closely-related discipline may also be considered. Applicants must demonstrate an aptitude for teaching graduate and undergraduates.
