Position Summary
The Distinguished Research Fellowship Program seeks PhD graduates from underrepresented groups for postdoctoral experience and training in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences .
The aim of the program is to develop a robust pipeline of potential underrepresented faculty members. Qualified participants may be able to transition into tenure-track faculty positions in UB’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Preference is given to individuals who are recent graduates or have a few years of post-graduate work and strong academic credentials in areas that have the potential to add to and complement the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences’ current research and teaching portfolio . Applications will be accepted to all 9 departments within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Fellows are partnered with at least one senior SEAS faculty member, and will gain first-hand experience in:

- Guiding and mentoring graduate students
- Writing research proposals
- Conducting seminars
- $80,000/year for salary
- $20,000 for moving, immigration, research travel, and computer costs
