Scope of Job:
To provide coaching and instructional support to preschool teachers for successful implementation of Texas School Ready project that will impact school readiness for prekindergarten children.

Description of Duties:
• Implements a variety of strategies including side-by-side coaching, and co-teaching, instructional planning and reflective feedback.
• Participates with Children’s Learning Institute (CLI) staff to ensure project fidelity.
• Provides coaching support to teachers as required using a variety of coaching strategies including video reflection to improve teacher quality.
• Provides teachers with verbal and written feedback after each classroom visit.
• Implements required coaching tools to monitor teacher’s progress and to set goals for improvement.
• Participates in videotaping of coaching practices and interactions with teachers in the classroom for evaluation purposes.
• Supports teachers with the implementation of instructional strategies as outlined in the eCIRCLE professional development sessions as well as the Classroom Observation Tool (COT).
• Assists teachers in understanding progress monitoring data reports and providing classroom instruction based on these reports.
• Collaborates with Children’s Learning Institute (CLI) to support the management of project expenditures.
• Participates in all CLI training; including conference calls.
• Plans, develops and facilitates ongoing professional development as required for the implementation of the project (CIRCLE Preschool Early Language and Literacy training, eCIRCLE facilitation, progress monitoring training, curriculum training, administrators training etc.).
• Collaborates with teachers to assist with developing lesson plans and daily schedules.
• Collaborate with CLI to order, ensure delivery, and account for inventory of teacher/classroom materials.
• Collects, updates, tracks, and manages school, classroom, teacher, and child enrollment data.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:
General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given:
Direct supervision of assigned staff.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Early Childhood Education or any other degree with a Texas Alternative Teaching Certification.

Preferred Education:
Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field from an accredited university.

Licenses/Certifications:
None.

Required Experience:
• Three (3) years of experience teaching preschool or Kindergarten through first grade and or
• Three (3) years of experience training or coaching adults.
• Knowledge of research based pre-kindergarten curriculum and instructional strategies, pre-school literacy screening and progress monitoring. Knowledge of Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines, Head Start Child Outcomes, and Child Licensing standards.
• Preferred: Bilingual (English & Spanish)

Use of standard office equipment. Working knowledge of technology (internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, videotaping, uploading documents/videos, etc.).

Working Conditions:
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
