Job Summary

Adjunct faculty to teach Medical Terminology course in person to high school students at two high schools in Rhode Island. Must be available to teach M/W or T/Th. Time frames are between 12:30 and 2 p.m. at one high school and 2:30 to 5 p.m. at another high school.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach CCRI’s Medical Terminology course at area high schools and students in CCRI’s Medical Insurance Billing Certificate Program and Medical Administrative Assistant Associate Degree Program.

Minimum Requirements

-Master’s Degree preferred, a Bachelor’s Degree in a major that relates to healthcare or medical studies.
-At least three years of professional employment in healthcare or medical field.
-Must know how to build medical words – suffixes, combining forms, and prefixes.
-Must know the proper spelling and pronunciation of all medical terms along with their definitions.

Competencies

-Familiarity with F.A. Davis Company’s Medical Terminology Textbook is a plus.
