Summary
St. Louis College of Pharmacy at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis invites applications for a non-tenure-track, academic year (9-month) faculty position at the level of assistant or associate professor of pharmacology. The successful candidate with a passion for teaching is expected to contribute to required and elective didactic courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and will directly report to the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Administrative Sciences.

You will have an opportunity to:
  • Teach in a pharmacy curriculum integrating pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pathophysiology, and therapeutics in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. Courses in this sequence focus on disease states and present unique opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice.
  • Develop one or more upper division elective course(s) in your specialty area for the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum.
  • Be actively involved in research in your area of expertise. There will be opportunities to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of researchers.
  • Provide service to the University/College and the profession of pharmacy through academic advising of students, contributions to professional organizations and University/College committees.


  • Qualifications
    To succeed you will need:
  • A Ph.D. in pharmacology. Also encouraged is a pharmacy or healthcare background.
  • A commitment to student learning. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching or mentoring professional students, experience teaching in an ability-based education model, active learning, team-based learning, and other student-centered learning techniques. Requires at least 5 years teaching experience for appointment at associate professor level.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with outstanding communication.
  • Demonstrated support for diversity and inclusion.
