Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk receives, delivers and occasionally store a wide range of materials, equipment and supplies ordered by the University.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inventory, process and delivery equipment, supplies and materials for the University
  • Ship and track all outbound equipment (i.e., return to vendor, warranty, damages)
  • Check, document condition and report shortages to buyers for resolution and follow-up with shippers and vendors on damaged material receipts including filing of claims
  • Coordinate with buyers, vendors, shipping companies, to document and rectify discrepancies
  • Tag, document and capture serial numbers of inventory equipment, stage equipment for delivery according to priority of receipt
  • Perform data entry in the areas of receipt and issuer in computerized inventory system
  • Utilize material handling equipment and/or physically hand load material on delivery vehicle
  • Create receipt in computer-based programs (spreadsheets and databases) to document arrival/acceptance of equipment and material on campus and process all associated
  • Maintain files of all pertinent documents for future reference
  • Maintain a clean and accident-free workspace, obey and enforce safety standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain high-quality rapport with faculty, staff and students to ensure services provided are aligned with the University mission


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications
  • Forklift operator certified or ability to obtain forklift certification

Required Experience
  • One (1) or more years of related work experience


Proposed Salary

$14.66 - $17.40 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
