Job Summary
The Clinical Case Manager will provide case management services to the UWM student body. A secondary role will be completing triages and providing crisis response and de-escalation to students in distress as part of an on-call rotation. The Case Manager works with campus partners to provide support to students in crisis, those students identified from the Student Support Team, and serves as the liaison to area hospitals, community group practice agencies, and other area providers. UCS offers a short-term treatment model and will refer students who need longer term or more intensive treatment to off campus providers who offer a level of care that matches clinical need. The case manager will assist those students. The case manager must possess strong communication skills, experience managing mental health crises, and knowledge/experience accessing complex medical and mental health services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a mental health related field
- Minimum of 2 years (pre or post masters) practicing in the
mental health field as a case manager or related capacity
Preferred Qualifications - State licensed in Wisconsin as an LPC, LCSW and/or
LMFT
- Experience working as a case manager locating and accessing
community-based mental health services
- Experience serving clients across various spectrums, including
race, ethnicity, orientation, gender identity, ability and economic
status through a social justice lens
- Experience working with high-risk and high-acuity
populations
- Evidence of strong crisis management skills involving mental
health emergencies
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and thorough
record keeping ability, including experience using an electronic
health record system
- Experience in brief clinical intervention, including risk
assessment, safety planning, and mobilization of support
systems

- In instances where the Search and Screen Committee is unable to
ascertain from a candidate's application materials whether they
meets any of the qualifications, they will be evaluated as not
meeting such qualifications.

Starting salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience. Excellent fringe benefits, including vacation and sick leave. There are no weekend or on call responsibilities and no insurance billing or paperwork to complete.
