Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Compliance, the Senior Associate Director for Information Systems provides planning and technical expertise in software development, database management, implementing installation, configuration, security, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, OS, and networking in a Windows environment. Maintains and provides oversight of the department's international case management software, Sunapsis.
Develops and maintains the department's report server and custom scripts. Manages data integrity and users’ access. Oversees, administers, and maintains the department’s multi-user database of international students and scholars. Responsible for all uploads, downloads, and other data exchange and reconciliation between Student Information System (SIS) and Sunapsis.
Responsible for all data exchange, reconciliation, and synchronization between the department's database and SEVIS, the Department of Homeland Security’s database on international students and exchange visitors. Responsible for all LAN administration, threat management, OS and application security, and general updates, including privileges for servers and workstations, firewall, antivirus and antispyware management and update, backup and disaster recovery protocols. Provide technical support for local and remote users.
Supervises an Assistant Director for Information Systems. Works closely with CUIT regarding maintenance, troubleshooting, enhancements, etc. of Sunapsis. Communicates with Indiana University's tech team regarding any technical issues related to Sunapsis.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related STEM field of study
- Five years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field of study
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting enterprise systems like Sunapsis
- Knowledge of federal immigration regulations and SEVIS (including but not limited to F-1, J-1, H-1B, and U.S. Permanent Residency regulations)
- Familiarity with Sybase/Oracle/SQL or other relational databases and programming languages a plus
Other Requirements
- Experience with Windows family of OS and UNIX, Visual FoxPro 9.x, VBA, FOCUS, COM+, XML, SQL, document management and encryption, Windows AD, DNS, FTP, fax and groupware servers and most general office applications, Google applications
- Extensive knowledge of file management within a Windows environment
- Knowledge of a UNIX/Linux environment
- Knowledge of CSV files and how to extract data out of CSV files and how to import CSV files into Sunapsis
- Familiarity with secure file transfer processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills applied to document complex data processes and system requirements
- Ability to convey technical information and instructions to all levels of end-users and staff clearly and concisely
- Ability and willingness to assist with ad hoc requests, issues, and internal changes
- Ability to operate in a timely manner and adhere to deadlines
- Management experience and ability to act as lead on teams and projects
- Familiarity with an international office environment or experience working in a large, high-traffic non-profit or university setting.
