Job Summary

The Office of Professional & Career Development in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University seeks a Career Services Specialist.

The selected candidate will be the primary point of contact and planner for all events related to employer visits to campus including large career events, employer engagement events throughout the year, interviews on campus, and special events related to internship and job recruiting for the Harbert College of Business students.

Due to the large volume and complexity of employer events in the Harbert College of Business, this role will fill a crucial need that allows the department to better serve the students and employers. As a part of the College’s mission, “to produce highly desired graduates,” this role is critical to our delivery of successful employer engagement events.

Additionally, as a key component of the employer relations team for the College, this role will be a major contributor to the overall strategic plan for the Office of Professional & Career Development and the employer development vision.

Essential Functions

The Career Services Specialist will plan and manage all aspects of career and employer events (ranging from 2000+ attendee career fairs to on-campus interviews or small groups of students) to support employer recruiting for jobs and internships. This requires managing and coordinating resources both within and outside the OPCD, and collaborating with numerous stakeholders. Management of complex logistical details, budgets and resources is critical.

This position collects and analyzes data regarding student and employer satisfaction, outcomes and other important measures of operational goals for OPCD . Tools used to successfully manage this process include Salesforce, Qualtrics, Excel, and potentially other technology resources.

This position collaborates with industry contacts and employer representatives (primarily on, but occasionally off campus) to discuss their needs and provide guidance to them regarding engaging with students, faculty, and staff at Auburn to meet their hiring goals.
