The Department of Athletics and Recreation is searching for a Men's & Women's Tennis Assistant Coach (Part-time position) who is a positive, energetic and enthusiastic leader with the ability to teach, motivate, build and develop, and recruit student-athletes. The ideal candidate will be an organized, effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is a flexible team player. Responsibilities will include assisting in the organization and administration of all aspects of the Men's and Women's Tennis program including teaching and implementing skills and strategy, recruiting, and implementation of NCAA, conference, and institutional policy and regulations.

On a typical day you will:
  • Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of coaching, program, team management, planning and executing training, practices, and dual matches.
  • Aid in all levels of prospective student-athlete recruitment.
  • Participate in professional electronic, phone and interpersonal communication to individual players, administrators, and recruits.


The salary range for this position is $6,000 - $8,000


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience: Two years of coaching experience at the club, high school or college level.

Skills:
  • Must demonstrate integrity and the ability to inspire students and athletes to perform at a high level.
  • Demonstrated understanding of an academically rigorous institution, particularly the demands of art and design programs.
  • Self-Starter with a vision and sense of creativity to develop a recruiting system and program philosophy that delivers athletic excellence and efficiency at Pratt Institute.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.

Other: The ability to work nights and weekends is crucial

License: Valid NYS Driver’s License.
