Basic Qualifications

One year of experience with basic biological laboratory techniques is required.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

BA/BS in biology, genetics or related science is preferred as is at least one year of directly related lab experience. Excellent communication, demonstrated organization skills, attention to detail and dexterity. Ability to work independently, as well as a team member. Prior experience with zebrafish or model organisms is a plus.

Position Description

The candidate will work closely with scientists in the lab and will perform daily activities, including:
  • Zebrafish line maintenance and genotyping;
  • Molecular biology techniques, including cloning, PCR, DNA and Protein extraction, immunostaining, and generation of transgenic animals;
  • Maintenance of lab equipment and supplies;
  • Operation of scientific equipment, requiring a high degree of skill and precision;
  • Recording of results of experiments according to standard laboratory techniques.
