Job Description:

The adjunct lab instructor will teach daytime and/or evening sections of the laboratory for 100-level chemistry courses.
Potential courses include General Chemistry I lab (CHM 135) and Principles of General and Organic Chemistry lab (CHM
123). CHM 135 aligns with CHM 134 lecture, which includes an introduction to stoichiometry, atomic structure, chemical
bonding, properties and reactions of inorganic compounds, introductory thermodynamics, acids and bases, and oxidation-
reduction reactions. The CHM 123 lab partners with CHM 122, a course for students seeking careers in health-related
fields (i.e. nursing). The instructor will be responsible for facilitating all in-class instruction, grading, and for communicating
laboratory grades to the faculty member coordinating the course.


A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field is required. Preference will be given to applicants with
previous teaching experience.
