The School of Interdisciplinary Forensics (pending ABOR and faculty governance approvals), in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University, is seeking a full-time professor of practice to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Forensic Science and contribute to the design and leadership of the program. Applicants must present evidence of broad interdisciplinary expertise and/or direct experience and training in any area in Forensic Science or Criminal Justice. This is a renewable non-tenure-track teaching academic year (9-month) position. Faculty duties include teaching in person and online. Typical workloads for professor of practice are consistent with 80% teaching, including four courses every fall and spring, and 20% service. Subsequent one-year appointments may be offered, under the same terms and conditions, at the discretion of the college and university. It seeks candidates who will create a climate of diversity that attracts and supports the success of students of all races, nationalities, and genders.

Essential Functions of the Position:
- Provide high-quality instruction in areas of Forensic Science at the undergraduate and graduate level in in-person and online modalities; Contribute to curriculum development and programmatic responsibilities; Provide course coordination for classes with multiple sections; Support the ongoing development of the Forensic Science program; Contribute to impactful education through innovative programmatic development, and cultural-responsive teaching and mentoring practices; Support equitable inclusion across all aspects of the school’s operations; Contribute to an environment of collegiality. A Master’s degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or closely related field and 10 years professional experience in applied forensics, forensic laboratory setting, criminal justice, and investigation. Desired Qualifications:
- Administrative experience in forensic work environments. Accreditation, certification, licensing, or advanced training for the specific field of study/profession.
- Evidence of effective and inclusive college-level teaching.
- Experience in different teaching modalities, including online instruction. Knowledge of evaluation of instruction, curriculum development, program development and evaluation. Knowledge of current college-level pedagogical techniques. Ability to develop courses in Forensic Science/Investigations and assist in program development. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate collaboratively within a diverse and interdisciplinary team that includes staff, faculty, students, and community partners in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate collaboratively within a diverse and interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
