Position Summary
The Department of Mathematics , University at Buffalo, State University of New York, is accepting applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor (academic-year commitment) in applied mathematics, effective August 2023. Renewal of this non-tenure-track appointment is possible with satisfactory performance and dependent on departmental teaching needs.
The position involves teaching, and developing content for, an introductory hands-on project-based course in scientific and mathematical computing using Python/Numpy, as well as other courses in the applied math curriculum with a computational component, such as probability, linear algebra, differential equations, etc. The expected teaching load is three courses per semester.
