Senior Assistant Director of Admissions Events and Campus Visits

 

Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a Senior Assistant Director of Admissions Events and Campus Visits (Student Services Program Coordinator II) position. This position serves as a member of the undergraduate admissions team and is responsible for implementing policies and procedures for the recruitment of prospective undergraduate students within an assigned territory. The Senior Assistant Director is also responsible for supervising the tour guide program and coordinating and planning enrollment/yield events.  This position receives intense training and supervision over the first six months and routine training will follow after the first six months. Frequent overnight, out-of-state, and weekend travel/work is required and must be able to work some nights, weekends and flexible hours. Must be willing to travel alone extensively.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to: coordinates and plans enrollment and yield events to include: Atheneum Scholars, on-campus admitted student events, off-campus admitted student events, counselor luncheons, and other in-person or virtual enrollment-driven events; advises and counsels prospective students/applicants and their families on admissions criteria and related academic and student life issues; develops and implements strategies to meet assigned enrollment goals;  represents the University to students and families at recruitment events; recruits potential students; manages and supervises the student tour guide program by recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating all student tour guides (40+ students); assists with the management of the University Welcome Center by meeting regularly with the Welcome Center Coordinator; manages tour guide budget adhering to all state and university regulations; and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience in admissions or student recruitment in a college or university setting is required.  A valid driver’s license is required. A master’s degree is preferred. Experience in supervising student workers and/or tour guides and experience coordinating and supervising large-scale recruitment events is preferred.

Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the University.  Frequent overnight, out-of-state, and weekend travel/work is required and must be able to work some nights weekends and flexible hours. Must be willing to travel alone extensively.
