Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of the position is to assist North Carolina Central University with the management of Enterprise Development Services, which aids the Director in planning, coordination, and supervision of activities related to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level applications, interfaces, and integrations.



Minimum Education/Experience:
Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 4 years of equivalent technical work experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and experiences should include: 5-7+ years of progressive experience in development and/or programming design and systems management. Minimum two years of management experience. Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of application solutions. Strong knowledge of programming quality assurance best practices and methodologies. Experience with enterprise-level applications that include, but not limited to: Ellucian Banner 8 and 9, Argos, NextGen, AppWorx, N2N Illumnate, Linux/Unix, Windows, Git/GitHub, Subversion, and Degree Works. Technically fluent in programming languages that include: Groovy, Java, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, C, and Shell. Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, and agile methodologies. Knowledge of database design and file management techniques. Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems. Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Strong customer-service orientation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. Ability to conduct research into application development issues and products. Highly self-motivated and directed. Keen attention to detail. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
