Regional Instructional Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Regional Instructional Coordinator is responsible for the regional leadership of the Digital Economy Project (DEP), the distance online teaching of the Remote Work Certificate and E-Commerce courses and the coordination of the basic computer literacy program according to the UI procedures and requirements. It also conducts large-regional scale awareness campaigns to inform the public and stakeholders about the availability of the courses; creates and facilitates partnerships with local stakeholders, including higher education institutions, public libraries, workforce development agencies, and NGOs, so students can access facilities with computers and internet to take courses; and collects participant and needs assessment data to inform, adjust and strengthen supports and services to remain responsive and relevant to regional needs.
Note: Finalist will receive training from Utah State University, Purdue University, and University of Idaho on Remote Work and E-Commerce course content and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, education, economic development, or professional studies.
- Four years of related work experience in business management, education, workforce development or economic development may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Experience with computers and online technology.
- One (1) year of experience developing and delivering live or online seminars, conferences, courses or presentations to small and large audiences.
- One (1) year of experience in working with underserved audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or graduate-level education in a related discipline.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience with online learning management systems.
- Experience using a variety of technologies/resources to integrate distance learning best practices into course design and instruction.
- Experience working in higher education, government or community services.
- Experience in managing project budgets.
- Ability to read and write fluently in Spanish.
