Job Description: The Nursing program at Farmingdale State College invites applicants to apply for a full-time (10-month) Lecturer in Nursing. Lecturer positions are non-tenured positions. Specifically, the Nursing Department is seeking a faculty member with a solid clinical background. The candidate should have experience and ability to teach nursing skills. Lecturers are responsible for teaching 15 contact hours per semester, and service to the Department and the School, including activities such as advising students and serving on department committees. Nursing lecturers are also responsible for maintaining their professional qualifications and skills as a nurse. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and a high level of competence in teaching. Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master of Science in Nursing or Nursing Education. All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution. • Current New York State RN license. • Previous college/hospital-based teaching experience. • Two years clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Teaching experience in nursing skills and simulation labs. • Excellent interpersonal attributes. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
