Job Description

The University of Missouri- St. Louis (UMSL) Department of Education Sciences and Professional Programs in the College of Education invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of School Psychology for employment beginning in August 2023.

About the School Psychology Program
The UMSL School Psychology Program emphasizes prevention science, problem-solving consultation, and culturally responsive practice with a special focus on the provision of mental/behavioral health services in schools. The program is NASP-Approved and housed within the College of Education, which encourages collaboration with other educator preparation programs across the college. The College of Education has strong commitments to community partnership and social justice, and we seek a faculty colleague who shares these values.

The position requires teaching, conducting research, publishing, writing grants, participating in service activities, advising students, and having a strong commitment to cultural diversity and social justice. The position is a nine-month academic year contract beginning August 2023. UMSL is an equal opportunity institution. Responsibilities
• Teach graduate courses in school psychology in areas such as culturally responsive prevention, intervention and consultation and multicultural issues
• Provide supportive mentoring and advising to graduate students in the program on a consistent basis.
• Engage in and sustain a research agenda in a chosen area in or adjacent to the field of school psychology.
• Provide meaningful institutional service to the program, college, and university as well as professional service to local, national, and international communities.

Qualifications

• Completed doctorate in School Psychology (or ABD with completion by start date) from a NASP Approved and/or APA Accredited program
• A demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and social justice advocacy in education
• Experience working in a P-12 school setting and knowledge of school systems and work with students receiving general and special education or other exceptional populations
• A record of (or potential for) published research in the field of school psychology

Preferred Qualifications
• Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) Licensure
• Eligible for Psychologist Licensure in Missouri
• Previous graduate or undergraduate level teaching and mentorship
• A demonstrated record of institutional and/or professional leadershipClick here to enter qualifications.
