Start Date: June 2023
Dordt University is seeking faculty in chemistry and biochemistry beginning June 2023. We are seeking to fill needs in the areas of organic chemistry and/or biochemistry serving primarily chemistry and biology majors and pre-health students, along with introductory level courses for majors and nonmajors, dependent on expertise and interests.
The ability to communicate with passion and illustrate course content from a Reformed Christian perspective is critical. An earned doctoral degree in chemistry or biochemistry or a closely related area is preferred. A master's degree is required. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching, industrial, or postdoctoral research experience.
In addition to teaching, the faculty will include full participation in department and university administrative tasks (such as curriculum development and review, assessment, development of new initiatives, student recruiting and advising, and committee assignments).
The Chemistry department at Dordt University has a strong history of preparing students for graduate and professional schools, industry and K-12 education, and a growing tradition of undergraduate research. The department also works collaboratively with Biology and Physics departments and provides instruction for most STEM disciplines, an area of growth for the institution. This preparation is infused with a Reformed Christian worldview, in order to prepare students to be global citizens in God's service. We are looking for an enthusiastic, interdisciplinary-minded team player who is interested in working with a growing number of science students.
Qualified candidates committed to a Reformed, biblical perspective and educational philosophy are encouraged to follow the full-time application process at the link below. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Dordt University endeavors to diversify its staff within the framework of its mission. The commitment of the university to nondiscrimination on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, national or ethnic origin, or race is consistent with federal and state requirements for nondiscrimination in employment.
