President
The Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State College System invites applications and nominations for the position of President of Chadron State College. The Board seeks a new President who will build on the decade of success of President Randy Rhine, who is retiring at the end of June 2023, and work with Chancellor Paul Turman and the Board of Trustees to advance the mission of the institution and strengthen its ability to serve its students, faculty, staff, alumni, community, and region. The next President will need to embrace the rural community and culture of Chadron State College while serving as an advocate for the College to continue to extend its reach and influence in the next decade.
Chadron State College (CSC) sits nestled against the north slope of northwest Nebraska's beautiful Pine Ridge. It is one of three open-enrollment institutions that comprise the Nebraska State College System and serves more than 2,200 students in a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs through on-campus and online courses in a variety of fields of study. CSC is highly student-centered, focuses on engaged learning, and offers its students impactful experiences and outcomes. While the College serves students from around the globe, it has a significant cultural and economic role in serving the residents and needs of Nebraska's rural High Plains region through education, research, and public service programs.
CSC is committed to offering an accessible and affordable education, and the College is proud to offer the most affordable tuition in the region. The State of Nebraska offers generous support for higher education, ranking 9th in the nation in spending per student, according to U.S. News & World Report. State funding has helped to support more than $70 million in campus construction and renovation in the last ten years, including the newly renovated Math Science Center of Innovative Learning, the Rangeland Laboratory and Classrooms, Beebe Stadium, and the Outdoor Track and Field Facility.
Chadron State College seeks an accomplished, energetic, creative, and resilient leader to embrace an agenda for the future that includes strategic planning, focusing on mission and the primacy of the academic program, optimizing enrollment, nurturing and engaging the community, growing resources, building a strong team, and providing effective leadership for the College. The President will need to be student-centered, bring an appreciation for the region's history and culture, and embrace life on the High Plains.
