Faculty Position - Undergraduate Psychology

Position Description:

Traditional Undergraduate Psychology seeks applications for a full-time faculty member to teach a variety of courses in the psychology major and provide opportunities for students to engage in laboratory/ field research, conferences, and scholarly publication. Vanguard seeks professionals of Christian faith who are committed to integration of faith and learning in their respective fields. The applicants must have demonstrated teaching ability and a commitment to working with and encouraging diversity. This position begins fall 2023. Vanguard University offers both tenure track and term faculty contracts; the type of contract offered will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications at the time of hire.
Essential Functions:

• Teach undergraduate psychology courses (preference for faculty qualified to teach Biological Psychology and/or Cognitive Psychology) An overview of requirements for the psychology major can be found here: https://catalog.vanguard.edu/sobe/undergraduate/psychology/psychology-ba/
• Conduct research in the field of psychology with a focus on student participation in hands-on research and foster opportunities for conference participation and scholarly publication by students.
• Participate in general faculty roles including advising and committee service.
• Collaborate with department faculty regarding curriculum implementation, student retention and support, and continuous program improvement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Doctorate in psychology or related field is preferred. Candidates with Master's Degree or Master's Degree plus clinical licensure will be considered.
• Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
• Online teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to thoughtfully integrating culturally diverse perspectives and fostering an inclusive environment.
• Teamwork, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Possess a vibrant Christian faith, and commitment to an academically rigorous integration of faith and learning.

Salary:

Assistant Professor: $58,242 to $78,336

Associate Professor: $67,932 to $91,494

Professor: $78,846 to $109,548

Placement at appropriate rank (e.g., Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) and initial salary is dependent upon education, experience, and based on Vanguard's faculty compensation schedule. The upper range is reserved for candidates that demonstrate the highest level of proficiency within a particular rank.
