Position Description

The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine, is accepting applications for an open rank WOT (without tenure by reason of funding), full-time faculty position, on the Clinician-Scholar track. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.

Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The anticipated start date is Summer 2023. 

The successful applicant will join a well-established division of twelve Adolescent Medicine faculty members and a multidisciplinary team of over fifty staff and faculty. The division consists of a diverse group of adolescent health experts who value the excellence that comes from diversity, fostering a climate of inclusion and collaboration and innovation.

Particular strengths of the Division include an outstanding fellowship program, a Maternal and Child Health Bureau-funded Leadership Education in Adolescent Health (LEAH) training, and an active research program.

This position will have a clinical focus with interest in behavioral health, eating disorders, biofeedback, gender, and reproductive health for all genders and engage in clinics in the Seattle area and in regional clinics.

The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors MD $11,270 - $16,905 per month ($135,240 - $202,860 annually), Associate Professors MD $12,656 - $18,984 per month ($151,869 - $227,803 annually), Professors MD $15,620 - $23,431 per month ($187,444 - $281,166 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

Qualifications

The eligible applicant will be board certified (or eligible) in Pediatric Adolescent Medicine. MD, DO or MD/DO combined (or foreign equivalent) required.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
