Job Description:

OFFICIAL TITLE: Academic Program Coordinator (Grant-Funded/ 1 Year Appointment)
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Assistant Dean, Academic Services
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Student Personnel

General Statement of Duties: Coordinate academic support services to the Peer Assisted Learning Program. This person must have the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals and to be perceptive and understanding of student concerns. Job requires extreme sensitivity and appropriate handling of confidential information and a professional approach to all responsibilities as outlined below. This is a grant funded, temporary appointment. Funding ends on October 31, 2023.

Responsibilities:

(E) = Essential

  1. (E) Coordinate the planning and implementation of Academic Support Services related to the Peer Assisted Learning Program in STEM department, Writing Fellows Program in the English department, and other Academic Success Center support programming.
  2. (E) Work closely with Assistant Dean and Faculty members to achieve program goals.
  3. (E) Oversee the scheduling and communication of these programs.
  4. (E) Recruit, hire and train student personnel.
  5. (E) Track and maintain all data associated with the program.
  6. (E) Communicate and troubleshoot program outcomes.
  7. (E) Maintain working knowledge of computer systems including Self-Service, Word, Excel.
  8. (E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
  9. (E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.
  10. (E) Responsible for contributing to Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action objectives.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, listening, and counseling skills.
  • Ability to interact with a very diverse group of faculty, students, staff, and university personnel.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and CORI check.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, professional APA position. This is a grant-funded, temporary 1-year appointment. The firm annual salary for this position is $50,000.
