Enrollment and Financial Aid Analyst
About the Opportunity
The Northeastern University Enrollment Research & Analytics (ENRA) team provides timely data analytics that inform and help guide strategic decision making across the entirety of the student lifecycle, from recruitment and enrollment through to persistence and graduation. Such analysis contributes to student recruitment strategy, admissions strategy and reporting, financial aid leveraging, predictive yield modeling, enrollment analytics and forecasting, and retention research. Reporting to the Associate Director of Enrollment Analytics, the Enrollment and Financial Aid Analyst will be responsible for executing analytic projects in support of Northeastern's graduate admission and financial aid efforts, with a strong focus on graduate student financial aid leveraging. The individual in this role will provide admissions analytics as well as enrollment modeling and analysis to support graduate student recruitment and scholarship strategy.
The individual in this role with work the leadership from Enrollment Management as well as individual colleges to recommend college-specific strategies to enhance recruitment and yield efforts, with a specific focus on creating financial aid models to enhance graduate enrollment yield.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
- At least 2-5 years of demonstrated proficiency in data
analysis, data visualization, and reporting, with experience
cleaning and manipulating large, complex datasets.
- Advanced practical experience with BI and data analysis
software (Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, etc.) required. Proficiency
using SQL to query data stored in relational databases strongly
preferred. Programming experience (e.g., R, Python) a
plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of data structures and common
methods of data extraction and transformation.
- Experience with relational databases and CRM systems required;
Slate, Banner and Salesforce a plus.
- Ability to analyze data, recognize patterns, and provide
informed recommendations to support decision making. Experience
developing and implementing predictive models a plus.
- Strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are
essential, as well as the ability to think critically, work
independently and solve problems creatively.
- Excellent data visualization, report preparation, and written
communication skills; ability to summarize and present analytic
findings in ways that are accessible to non-technical
audiences.
- Demonstrated curiosity and persistence in navigating technical
challenges.
- Understanding of higher education management, particularly
financial aid, a plus.
