Purpose of Job
Perform maintenance duties to help create a positive learning and work environment for the PTC community.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Associate Degree in related field preferred
  • Electrical license a plus

Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years of general maintenance experience, including exposure to electrical/carpentry
  • Must be familiar with, or able to quickly learn, the National Electric Codes, electrical theory, and be comfortable working with low and high voltage (277, 110). Must follow compliance with all National Electric Codes, OSHA safety procedures and policies and regulations.
  • Must be able to perform interior/exterior carpentry construction, drywall, plumbing, repairs and maintenance improvements.
  • Ability to perform, or quickly learn, electrical testing on HVAC residential/commercial multi-zone heating and cooling systems.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, prioritize work as required, and communicate workload status to the Director of Facilities.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities
  • Complete general maintenance work orders and assignments in a timely manner and up to required standards
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform electrical install and repairs while complying with all National Electric Codes, OSHA safety procedures, and PTC policies.
  • Perform interior/exterior carpentry construction, drywall, plumbing, repairs and maintenance improvements.
  • Perform electrical testing on HVAC residential/commercial multi-zone heating and cooling systems.
  • Work on several projects simultaneously, prioritize work as required, and communicate workload status to the Director of Facilities.
  • May be required to perform overtime for special projects, student breaks, winter months for snow removal, seasonal 2nd shift, and monthly emergency on call as required
  • Compile and record work request data using Microsoft Office software
  • Contribute to PTC’s overall success by performing additional duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in high elevation areas: ladders and lifts for height up to 30’.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and good manual dexterity
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions including rain, heat, and snow.

Additional Factors:
  • Must pass criminal and motor vehicle background check prior to starting position.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Must wear hard bottom work boots and uniform.
  • Must be willing to be on call for campus emergencies.
  • Overtime required for snow removal and special projects

Work Schedule
  • Full-time – 40 hours per week – Monday – Friday – Eight-hour work day (between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) plus half-hour unpaid lunch
  • On call pay – If required to report to campus during scheduled time off, minimum pay is 4 hours.
