JOB DETAILS

University of Wisconsin-Stout School of Education seeks a lecturer in Special Education. We seek a strong commitment to teaching and a commitment to promoting an equitable and inclusive environment. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses (face-to-face and online), including teacher preparation, supervise students, advising students and be involved in course and program assessment of student learning. This is a one-year position with intent to renew for future years at 50% or greater.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Graduate degree in Special Education or closely related field
  • 3 years of full-time teaching experience within the PK-12 schools
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collegial and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and members of the community
  • Experience working with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Interest in advancing student learning in the area of Special Education

Preferred:

  • Certifiable/Licensable in Special Education
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching experience in Special Education within the US PK-12 Schools
  • Demonstrated ability to teach using distance education strategies via different formats (synchronous & asynchronous online, hybrid)
  • Prior experience in supervising student teacher candidates
  • Evidence of previous instruction in higher education
