Assistant Professor – English | University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

The Assistant Professor of English will have a teaching load of twelve (12) credits per semester. Courses will be assigned ranging from Introduction to Creative Writing, Advanced Creative Writing (Poetry), Contemporary Poetry, and Composition depending on departmental needs. The usual course assignment distribution will be six (6) credits composition and six (6) credits in area of specialization.

Required qualifications:

• Completed terminal degree, M.F.A. or Ph.D., in appropriate specialization
• Active creative writing (particularly poetry) publication record
• Demonstrated strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and awareness of the importance of diversity in education

Preferred qualifications:

• A record of outstanding teaching
• Experience with other creative genres or literary magazines, academic journal or publication management
