Assistant Professor of Secondary Education- Tenure-Track - Fall 2023

The Division of Secondary and Special Education is seeking applicants with a focus on grades 9-12. The successful candidate will have expertise in two or more of the following areas: STEM education; curriculum and assessment in secondary education, including how to integrate instruction technology; supporting the needs of diverse learners, and ESOL methods. Components of the position include advising students; serving on department, division, and university committees; and engaging in professional and scholarly work. This position will teach at an undergraduate and graduate level using traditional, blended, and online methods. This position will begin in the Fall of 2023.

Qualifications:

Required:

• An earned doctorate in secondary education, curriculum, and instruction or a related field.

• All but dissertation (ABD) at time of hire will be considered at the Instructor level.

• Minimum of two-years experience teaching full-time in a classroom as the teacher of record at grade 6-12 level.

Preferred:

• Experience teaching a variety of courses in secondary education.

• Experience working with rural schools.

• Experience in academic advising and familiarity with instructional technology.

• Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate education or discipline-related courses in traditional, blended or online methods.
