Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Assistant Dean for Administration and Resource Management ( ADARM ) serves as the chief financial and human resources officer for the college and is a member of the College of Health and Human Services ( CHHS ) leadership team. The ADARM oversees financial, capital, and human resources planning for the CHHS . The ADARM utilizes data analytics and works with college administrators to develop short and long-range financial and staffing models that operationalize the CHHS’ strategic plan.

The Assistant Dean also collaborates with college administrators in short-term and long-term space and facility planning. This position supervises and manages the Business Core Service Team ( BCST ), which provides comprehensive support in the areas of finance, human resources, operations and events, and systems to all areas of the college. This position reports directly to the Dean of the CHHS .

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Finance, Data Management, or a related field with at least five to seven years of managerial experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience in financial administration and planning.

  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure
  • Familiarity with budget processes and policies in a complex organization
  • Familiarity with Banner Finance and Banner HR reporting systems
  • Extensive experience in managing a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage data and data reporting
  • Experience with faculty and staff position management

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The College of Health and Human Services ( CHHS ) is an interdisciplinary and integrated academic unit that includes three professional schools: the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, and the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences. Housed within CHHS are administrative, academic, and student support teams, a community engagement unit, and the Business Core Services Team ( BCST ) which provides centralized financial, human resources, facility management, systems training and support, and reporting services to all CHHS units.

College/School Information

The College of Health and Human Services was created in July 2010 to provide UNCW with a new mechanism to link and focus its health-related research, professional continuing education, and health knowledge dissemination and application. In the formative stage of development, the CHHS is currently home to three professional schools: School of Health and Applied Human Sciences, School of Nursing, and School of Social Work. The College seeks to be nationally recognized for its inter-professional and collaborative approach to enhancing the health and quality of life of individuals, families, and communities in southeastern North Carolina and beyond.
