Position Description
Rider University seeks an Administrative Specialist who will, with using a broad level of skills and knowledge, provide advanced administrative support to areas within University Advancement. Individual will: operate independently in prioritizing own workload; work proactively in identifying, following through, and resolving various issues; complete queries, run reports, and create mailing lists using Raiser’s Edge software; create gift calculations and contracts in PG Calc; track budgets, prepare and submit purchase orders and requests for reimbursement; and complete credit card reconciliation on a monthly basis.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated decision-making, and analytical skills to address questions and concerns raised by internal and external constituents. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize appropriately. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a cohesive team structure. Effective written and verbal communication and demonstrated customer service skills are required. Working knowledge of standard office equipment required. Computer proficiency is required with an emphasis on Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data management skills. Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently, prioritize and organize own work schedule, multi-task, and meet established deadlines. Excellent record-keeping and organization skills required.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- 4-6 years’ of related work experience
- 3-5 years’ of fundraising or development experience in a university, college, private institution, or non-profit setting, or transferable skills and experience
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge software
