Assistant Professor of Psychology

Job Purpose

RIT Dubai is seeking applications from exceptional candidates for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Psychology starting in the Fall 2023 semester. RIT Dubai is looking for a highly qualified, motivated, and enthusiastic individual who works well independently, possesses outstanding communication skills, and has a passion for teaching and research. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of courses in the field of Psychology (as listed below in the “Preferred Qualifications” section), including courses related to the Biopsychology Track as part of a 4/4 load in undergraduate Psychology.  The successful candidate will also be an instrumental part of the exciting new BS program in Psychology. 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• A PhD degree in Biopsychology or Neuroscience or a PhD degree expected by July 1, 2023; Ability to demonstrate career trajectory that emphasizes a balance between teaching and research;
• Ability to demonstrate a fit with the general mission of the Department of Sciences and Liberal Arts; and
• Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the University’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have demonstrated teaching ability and have taught undergraduate courses independently beyond the TA level;
• The ability to teach courses in Social Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and Learning and Behavior; and
• Have a demonstrated ability to supervise student research.
