CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Muhlenberg College, located in Allentown, PA, invites nominations and applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer. The College seeks a seasoned, enterprising, and strategic executive to serve as their next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to President Kathleen Harring, the CFO is the chief financial officer of the College and is responsible for the financial and business affairs of the College.

The CFO will provide executive leadership for all financial and business-related matters, is responsible for budget, debt management, financial accounting, investments, risk management, human resources, physical plant and oversees seven direct reports. The CFO will be to serve as a critical partner to campus leadership in advancing institutional goals and a key member of the senior leadership team, as well as liaison to the Audit and Compliance; Capital Projects and Infrastructure; Financial Performance and Asset Management Committees of the Board of Trustees, assisting in the discharge of their fiduciary responsibilities.

Additionally, the CFO will also work closely with the president, the vice president for enrollment management and the vice president/executive director of graduate and continuing education to develop and implement strategies to strengthen enrollment and to manage financial aid. The CFO is expected to partner with the provost and CDO to support the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty, work with the CIO to optimize and further implement the College's new ERP platform and collaborate with the vice president for advancement to support the current Boundless Campaign. The CFO will work with all members of the senior team to strengthen retention and implement programs to identify and support students at risk. The CFO is expected to partner across the institution to develop positive solutions to advance institutional goals and mission and to build financial models to guide short and long-range planning.

The CFO position is an integral member of the Muhlenberg College senior leadership team and it will be important that this individual have impactful engagement and presence within the Muhlenberg community. It is expected that CFO will work primarily on campus, however, there are opportunities for remote capability per the Muhlenberg Telework Policy.
