Assistant Director, Development

Position Summary:
The assistant director of development is responsible for developing and expanding philanthropic investment opportunities for the university. Specific responsibilities include management of an assigned portfolio; the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual donors and prospective donors; strategic donor engagement including an emphasis on substantive, strategic appointments; proposal development; identification and solicitation of annual leadership gifts (defined as gifts of $2,500+) from individuals. This position is a key member of the Advancement development fundraising team and works collaboratively to achieve fundraising goals for the university.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One year of experience in outside sales, marketing, public relations, development or other work experience which involved direct contact with clients, customers, prospective customers, and members of the public.

- Familiarity with database computer systems and applications, preferably with customer relationship management systems.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- The ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move publications and/or meeting/event materials weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Multiple confidential high skill level work assignments.
