Position Purpose
The Assistant Director coordinates internal and external operations for GrantGPS, ensuring excellent service for all grantseekers and strengthening connections to campus offices that support scholarship, including Office of Sponsored Projects ( OSP ), Office of Corporate and Foundations Relations ( CFR ), Technology Transfer Office ( TTO ), Dartmouth Health’s Office of Research Operations ( ORO ), and the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies. Helps GrantGPS senior directors to catalyze grant-funded research and scholarship in keeping with faculty needs, with a focus on supporting post-doctoral students, monitoring Academic Analytics for emerging trends, the Fulbright program, and creating a pipeline for faculty professional awards.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Master’s in pertinent field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six or more years of experience in program or project management, preferably in an academic environment.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing grant proposals in a non-profit or academic environment.
- Knowledge of the systems and processes of university research and scholarship, especially the creation and maintenance of databases.
- Demonstrated exceptional research, writing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills; excellent organizational and decision-making skills and the ability display initiative.
- Demonstrated experience in tracking, reporting, and record-keeping to maintain a proactive and organized office environment.
- Analytical and communications skills to develop and implement programs and materials.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
- Master’s in a pertinent field. PhD preferred.
- Strong preference for experience working in higher education.
- Extensive prior experience with preparing grant proposals in an academic environment.

Description
Grants Operations Coordination– Initiates, develops, and sustains relationships with Dartmouth and Dartmouth Health departments responsible for supporting grant funding; redesigns and maintains database of GPS clientele, funding opportunities, including tracking and reporting out on GPS submissions, support, and wins quarterly. Develops and maintains relationships with broad array of external editors, graphic designers, and reviewers across disciplines. Serves as manager and representative for GPS for interactions with college-wide resources in support of the grantseeking and submission process, including administrative and professional-development activities.

Research Development Support –works with senior associate directors to manage clients across disciplines, with a particular focus on supporting post doctoral students in all fields, the Fulbright program, Academic Analytics, and supporting faculty members as they seek extramural membership in professional societies, awards, and prizes.
