Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities
The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center ( RRTC ), School of Education, is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to implement Research Study Protocols as directed by the Principal Investigator and/or Project Director. Responsibilities include:

Collecting participant data and conducting analysis

Assisting with product development including replication manuals, brochures, fact sheets, etc.

Assisting with training, technical assistance, and other knowledge translation activities

Conducting Discovery/Assessment process and implementing situational assessments for individuals with disabilities

Engaging in business development designed to establish business partnerships for the promotion of employment of individuals with disabilities in integrated community settings

Assisting individuals with disabilities in performing their job duties to meet employer standards Minimum Hiring Standards
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU

Experience working with individuals with disabilities

Above average verbal and written communication skills

Ability to build community partnerships

Proven ability to carry out job duties in a professional manner, with a positive outlook and approach

Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Preferred Hiring Standards
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or another relevant field, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience;

Familiarity with the Richmond, Virginia, and surrounding area businesses and community resources.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities in areas of community-integrated competitive employment.
