Assistant Teaching Professor in Biochemistry

The School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Assistant Teaching Professor position in Biochemistry. This position will begin in August 2023. Successful candidates are expected to deliver quality undergraduate instruction in Biochemistry and associated courses, and to contribute service to the school, college, university and the profession.

Essential Functions of the Position:

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Mathematical Biology or related fields, by the time of appointment.

Desired Qualifications:  

• Evidence of potential to complement the current expertise in biochemistry, or other areas of research in the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences. Evidence of the expertise to teach core undergraduate courses supporting Biology, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Pharmacology & Toxicology, and the Biological Data Science MS program. Evidence of successful college/university teaching and course development experience. Practice and interest in mentoring undergraduate students and including them in research. Relevant teaching experience. Demonstrated record of working successfully with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
