Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) A major portion of the position will involve Research Administration to support research development and grants submission within Departmental and School of Medicine faculty. To that end a major set of responsibilities include: Identify funding RFAs for large grants (P, U, etc) from NIH and other Federal agencies and distribute to senior faculty-led teams; monitor Advisory Committee meetings at all Institutes at NIH for future research topic trends; work with faculty teams to coordinate and oversee submission of P, U and other complex grant applications; help Department/Center/Institute staff to coordinate initial meetings for thematic interest group[ retreats and monitor and report on initial and subsequent progress; generate complex funding/award reports for the Dean, Dean’s Office staff, and specified Departments/Centers/Institutes, as requested; perform detailed financial analysis of research support to all Academic Units within SOM; function as pre-awards approver of applications submitted through KUALI Research platform; manage review committees for inter-campus partnership grant programs.
The recruit will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Department as requested by the Chair. This includes, but not limited to, teaching in the area of pharmacology and neuroscience, medical school teaching, serving on Departmental Committees, and supporting young faculty with the development of their research programs. Qualifications
Qualifications: Applicant must have a PhD in the biomedical neurosciences with postdoctoral experience in areas of public health and/or analysis of clinical data sets. Prior experience of at least 2 years in pre-awards grants administration is essential.
