POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor this position requires employee to provide trash/recycle pick-up throughout campus facilities to include resident halls, common areas, gathering areas, athletic areas and loose trash. Perform duties in accordance with established standards and instructions.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trash Pick-up campus wide to include but not limited to the following:

All exterior trash cans (Law School breezeway 3 times daily).

Replace liners in exterior trash containers.

Empty dumpster’s daily, and ensures dumpster access faces away from fence /walls.

Pick up loose trash/debris located on the ground throughout campus.
Picking up all recycle bins twice a week (Tuesday & Friday).

Wash interior/exterior dumpster every time they’re emptied.

Wash trash compactor daily.

Pick up trash bags placed in collection area.

Assist in the moving of furniture and equipment and event set ups.

Report items that are in need of repair so they can be placed in the work order system.

Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor/ Operations Manager.

Pressure cleaning

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

All routine assignments shall be performed alone, following established safety standard practices. Sub-standard conditions should be questioned and resolved with immediate supervisor.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

No supervisory responsibility.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions. Prior experience in a similar position required. Ability to operate hand tools and equipment associated with custodial services such as fork lift, compactors etc. Employee may be exposed to chemical, mechanical or electrical hazard. Employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions. May be required to lift, push and or pull up to 70 lbs. Incumbent is expected to adhere to all established health and safety rules and regulations.

1. Would focus primarily on the completion and breakdown of University events & setups.

a. This would alleviate the burden placed on Maintenance as they juggle daily work tasks and setups.

2. The secondary functions would be to assist with workflow in maintenance and would have work orders assigned to them as needed.

3. Lastly, any other needs for the department and University these positions could assist with directly.

Tuition Benefit

After 1 year of continuous full‐time service, employees are eligible to enroll in STU’s bachelor and master courses, tuition‐free. The program will cover a maximum timeframe of 125% of credit hours attempted toward the degree program. Employees may enroll in STU’s doctoral program, with a 40% tuition discount, under the same conditions.
