Position Purpose
Reporting to the Howard Gilman ’44 Executive Director, the Manager of Fellowships and Student Initiatives advances the vision, goals and strategies of embedded arts-related student programs throughout their experience at Dartmouth and the Hop. This role is responsible for designing robust programs with defined curriculum for Dartmouth undergraduate and graduate students to examine the societal impact of the arts, to grow as leaders, and to explore career opportunities. Collaborates with Hop professional staff, artists, thought-leaders and a network of College partners to lead campus-based initiatives across disciplines.

Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- One to three years of professional arts administration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience in arts management or administration.
- Arts centered learning with a commitment towards diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
- Experience working with and supervising college students.
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated management capability and proven organizational skills
- A creative thinker with strong mentoring skills who empowers others to learn, grow and be their best selves
- Ability to develop professional working relationships with students, volunteers, artists and patrons
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with students in a collegiate setting

Description
Student Leadership and Professional Development
Responsible for Hop’s student fellowships, leadership initiatives, employment and other active arts opportunities. Manages and develops adaptable curriculum for a robust co-curricular program for students, introducing and providing critical experience in areas of arts management and creative practice. These include accessibility and belonging, artistic planning, production, academic engagement, communications, community and education programs and event services. Develops key metrics in addressing and promoting student involvement and integration into Hop programs and activities. Supports Dartmouth students in planning, producing and sponsoring arts-focused projects and events to engage Hop student employees and Dartmouth students at large in learning more about the Hop’s and Dartmouth’s arts offerings including capstone projects such as Arts at Dartmouth Career Days, Explore the Arts, Career Fairs and more.

Student Advisement
Advises and mentors students on a wide variety of art related social, cultural, career and community issues. Develops relationships with students to build community and provide direction, support and guidance that fosters identity and development, while focusing on the needs of students. Builds relationships with external partners in the field, alumni networks and Dartmouth departments, and is a resource to other Hopkins Center departments. The work includes equity, diversity and inclusion, accessibility; and building partnerships with Dartmouth’s Admissions, Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion and more.

Description
Supervisory and Financial
Oversees student fellows and employees, including a post-graduate fellow. Comprehensive understanding of student activity and award funding to enable informed decision-making regarding programs and activities. Manages and oversees special funding as it relates to the Hopkins Center Fellowship Program. Works within the context of funding as it relates to student professional development and engagement, mentorship and appreciation.
