The Arizona State University (ASU) Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation ( invites applications for the Edson Postdoctoral Fellows in Cognitive Decline, Dementia Care, and Family Caregiving.  Edson College faculty plan to help train a new generation of scientists with the necessary skill sets to become successful leaders in these areas of research. The goal of this fellowship is to provide exceptional mentored research and training experiences for its participants including research methods, community and clinical partnership development, interventions, and professional development activities (e.g., manuscript preparation, project management, and grant writing). Mentor matching is an essential component of the selection process through our Postdoctoral Search Committee.

Edson College is part of a vibrant and diverse research, education, and practice community at ASU, which was named this year by U.S. News and World Report for the eighth year in a row as #1 in Innovation among all universities in the United States. Edson College offers a rich interprofessional research, mentoring, and teaching environment with unique and growing transdisciplinary PhD and PhD/DNP programs and several centers that encompass health equity; health promotion and disease prevention; mindfulness, compassion, and resilience;  interprofessional practice, education, and research; and, healthy and resilient aging. The college received a 25 million dollar gift to name the college and coalesce our focus on aging studies, gerontology, family caregiving, and dementia care, taking research from the “bench to the bedside,” and care delivery from the acute setting, to the clinic, and into the home. We launched our new Center for Innovation in Healthy and Resilient Aging just a few years ago with great success and substantially expanded our faculty with aging-related research agendas including those with cognitive decline in mid- and later-life, dementia care, and family caregiving expertise. CIHRA is an interdisciplinary and interprofessional endeavor to promote research, training, and education that helps solve challenges in aging. Edson College faculty collaborate across professions, other colleges, and universities and have current or recent funding from NIH, PCORI, the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, HRSA, Department of Defense, the Veterans Administration, the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, and several other local, regional, and national organizations.  Edson College faculty also collaborate with a wide-ranging group of community and healthcare organizations to improve the economic, social, and cultural health and vitality of shared local, state, national, and global communities. Examples of these organizations include Mayo Clinic, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Banner Health, Dignity Health, HonorHealth, and the Phoenix VA Health Care System.
